Artist Statement

This project taught me a lot about the mechanics and importance of knowing the medium in which you work. I wanted to explore more about myself, especially since as we grow older a lot of qualities that we had as children tends to either be lost to the void or locked away since it is seen as immature instead of a quality of who we are. It was very fun to revisit my child-like self who was never afraid to try new things and be adventurous with my art.I wanted to touch on some very key details about myself that I thought were very important in who I was. I wanted to show the contrasts inside me, whether that be from my strength to my small stature, or the fact that my spirit seems so lively and colorful while my mind is very dark and clouded. I tend to see myself in odd characters, and I tend to be a disorganized thinker, so I wanted to capture that feel as well. Click HERE to gain insight into how my brain works.
