Digital art based on Peit Mondrian's 'Composition with Large Red Plane, Yellow, Grey, Black and Blue' (1921); coded and reproduced by Maliya Tilley (2022).

Created in 1921 during the abstract era, Mondrian plays frequently with primary colors as well as shades of monotone whites, greys, and blacks to achieve the geometric effect of harmony on the canvas. As replicated on this page, I first laid out my digital canvas with the cool grey shown, before eyeing key details such as the width of the lines and the overlap of the shapes to grasp the effect of the piece as accurately as possible.
